You Pack We Move services are offered by moving companies as a compromise between the full service moving options and doing the all the moving by yourself.

How It Works 

You Pack We Move services operate where the moving company drops off an empty moving pod or crate or an empty trailer.  Then, you and your family load the pod or trailer with your items and lock it up.  From here, you call the moving company and they will come by and pick it up and load it on a truck and haul it to your desired location.

Naturally, people will save some money by doing the loading themselves.  In addition, they have the chance to actual wrap and protect their own items.  This allows them to give extra padding to items they feel need additional protection. 

Another way money is saved is because you are only charged for the space you use by most of these companies.  This is a great breath of fresh air compared to moving truck rentals where you pay for the full size of the truck regardless of how much space you actually use.

By leaving the driving to the moving company, your time is freed up to focus on other things.  This extra time can be used to fix any loose ends of moving out of your old home and setting up the new home or can be used for other activities.  Another reason many people like this option is because they avoid a lot of extra stress by not having to do the driving of a large moving rental truck.  Driving a moving rental truck can be very frustrating for those not normally used to adjusting for the higher cab, lack of a rear view mirror, and reduced maneuverability compared to the standard car.  Some people also believe they may be able to save money here by having the moving company pay for the gas costs.  In our opinion, this is unclear as we believe in a number of cases this cost gets passed on to the end consumer.  However, it is possible that you could receive a gas cost savings as well.
