Finding a quality residential moving company can make all the difference in having a great move or a moving nightmare.  We have reviewed a number of different residential moving companies and found these to be very good:

This company can handle all types of home moves.  They are an international company that operates on a franchise basis in each area.  This provides a small company feel to their business and you get similar levels of high customer service.  They offer many advantages including a free estimate, insure your items during the move, and trained professional movers.  They prefer that all reservations be made at least one month prior to the moving date.  In addition, they will allow you to pack your own items at reduced rates and even selling moving supplies. 

Allied Van Lines 

Allied Van Lines is a well-established moving company that offers all kinds of different moving services and options.  These range from full service moves to partial services to even moving pods.  They offer many of the same benefits of Two Men and a Truck offers.  In addition, they have an excellent reputation in the industry supported by many satisfied customers. 

Green Van Lines 

Green Van Lines is perhaps one of the most interesting moving companies around.  They are green company that tries to accommodate the environment when possible.  Green Van Lines uses recycled materials and bio-fuels in their trucks to help with moves.  In addition, they even plant a tree for every move they make.  They prefer two weeks notice for their reservations and offer clean, unused recycled boxes for sale.  Their rates also vary depending on whether you want full service or are willing to do the packing yourself. 

Starving Students Movers 

Starving Students Movers is one of the biggest residential moving companies in California and Nevada.  It currently makes moves in only 9 states, but offers the same amenities as the large national brand names.  They also have an excellent growing reputation with their customers. 

North American Van Lines 

This company has long history in the moving business as it has helped families move for over 75 years.  It offers many of the same advantages as Allied Van Lines.  Customers’ endorsement of this company seems to vary somewhat based on location.  Our best advice is to check reviews for your existing location to see what past customers are saying. 

By keeping these companies in mind, you should be able to find a quality residential moving company.  A large number of people have found that after using residential moving companies, they never want to go back to renting moving trucks.
